Other than the Global availability of Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 has been revealed!

Nokia 5 also comes with aluminum construction but with round corners differentiating itself from blocking Nokia 6. Features a 5.2 inch HD IPS protected by 2.5D sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass. Internally, it is also powered by Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core Processor but comes only at 2GB RAM and 16GB flash storage (Expandable Via MicroSD). Features a 13MP Rear Camera with PDAF at 1.12um, f/2 supported dual tone flash. Front Camera is at 8MP also at 1.12um, f/2 but FOV 84 degrees. Comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and supports USB-OTG. LTE Cat 4 is available for fast internet connectivity. Packs NXP TFA9891 smart audio amplifier for enhanced sounds. Carries a 3000mAh integrated battery. Priced for 189 Euros.

If you want a more affordable offering then, Nokia 3 is for you. Nokia 3 is not full metal as it makes use of polycarbonate body encased only in aluminum frame. Houses a 5 inch HD IPS Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass, of course. This one though, makes use of Mediatek MT6737 Quad-core clocked at 1.3Ghz. Same memory and storage - 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal. Connections are also that of Nokia 5. No amplifiers here as it has only single speaker for audio. Rear Camera is at 8MP AF at 1.12um and f/2 backed up by LED flash. Front camera is also at 8MP. A 2650mAh non-removable battery said to power the device. Is budget offering by HMD at 139 Euros.

They both run Android Nougat 7.0 and is said to carry Google Playstore and Assistant as well as promise for Monthly Update.

Both are said for Global Release at 2nd Quarter of this Year.

Arsenal Devices Arrives with VR One, Power One and Deca One

Arsenal officially takes off starting with their new VR Ready smartphone - VR One.

Arsenal VR One in an all-metal built with blockish-type aesthetics accented with antenna lines. Sports a 5.2 inch Full HD LTPS Display made by JDI offering quality grade visuals that is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Comes in Silver and Black Models.

Does take detail shot though i find its focusing need some tweaking.

Selfie is just ok but I see some graininess. With this, VR One might struggle in low light.

Battery is at 2800mAh Battery. 2A charging via its propriety charger.

LG X Power Now Available Price Philippines Specs

LG announces the arrival of it heavy duty smartphone - X Power.

LG X Power comes in black or gold color options that is all plastic construction but is slimmer and lighter for its size and capacity. Sports a 5.3 inch LCD Display with HD Resolution should provide enough screen size for your visual needs. For its size and battery, it is quite light and nice to handle.

Powering the device is Mediatek MT6735 Quad-Core Processor clocked at 1.3GHz that is accompanied with Mali-T720 GPU as well as 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. You can have more storage via MicroSD slot. We have seen this kind of specification from other brands and it should be able to handle your applications, social and light games with less of hiccups. On the Test unit, it even has NBA 2K17 although it was playable at only lower settings. You have at least 10GB free space.

Features a 13MP primary rear camera with LED Flash. You do get creative filters and gesture controls with your snaps. Front camera is only 5MP to cater your basic selfies and video chat. Though we expect it to produce good results in daylight or with enough light source.

Focus and color is on point but output is much on a dimmer sidewhich might be due to aperture size of its camera at f/2.2.

Selfie is just decent but details and colors are accurate. Just make sure you have enough light as it will disappoint when it comes to low light captures.

WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS serves its wireless connectivity. LG X Power does offer LTE Cat 4 for faster internet connection on the go. USB-OTG is supported.

Finally, we arrive at LG X Power selling point is its battery at 4100mAH that supports Fast Charge with 2.3 Hrs Charging Time and capable of Reverse Charging (serves as powerbank to other devices). LG Batteries most reliable in the industry and so I am confident it won't (explode ehem) disappoint.

However hope LG improves on design and internals as competition is really tough and they are lagging behind. LG was innovative during its Optimus days but seems more focus on their high end. Anyways just sharing my opinion.

IFA 2016: Huawei Announces Nova and Nova Plus Midrange Phones

Huawei renews it midrange line up with Nova and Nova Plus announced for IFA 2016.

Upfront it makes use of 2.5D Curved glass unto a contoured frame, curves and runs around the back looks elegant and sexy. Major difference lies at the back for Nova follows tat of Huawei P9 but with round fingerprint sensor and Nova Plus on the other hand follows the Mate series but with squarish Fingerprint sensor. Guess Huawei is playing with design but Nova and Nova Plus really look so good.

Under the hood, both are powered by Snapdragon 625 Octa-Core Processor with Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. You can expand if you need via MicroSD slot for up to 128GB.

Major difference is also found on their optics, as Nova will carry only 12MP while Nova Plus has 16MP Primary Rear Camera. Hybrid AF is supported for both but OIS is only found on Nova Plus. The Two will have front camera set at 8MP.

These are Dual Sim Dual Standby Smartphones and carries the regular sets of connectivity from WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS. Huawei implements USB Type-C for its next generation devices. Guess thsi is to prepare for the future. This should enable support for USB-OTG and other functions.

Fingerprint security is available for both devices for more personalized security.

Huawei Nova packs a 3020mAh battery while Nova Plus has 3340mAh.

Availability for the Huawei Nova is said to be in October in over 50 countries and regions. The Huawei Nova Plus will initially be available in October in over 50 markets. No Word Yet on Pricing.

IFA 2016: Sony Launches Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ

Sony officially announced their new Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ.

They come in a Unified Design with loop surface that comfortably sits on your hands. The loop surface is inspired by a monolithic form. ALKALEIDO™ metal enhance the Xperia XZ's premium design with shine and depth. As for Xperia X Compact’s design, it comes in high-gloss finish and solid feel as well as follows the new signature blue colour expression, Mist Blue together with classic Universe Black and stylish White.

Sony is also an expert in making water resistant phones as such you don't need to worry about water for Xperia XZ as it is IP68 Dust and Water Resistant.

The Xperia XZ will carry a 5.2 inch Full HD  while Xperia X Compact is at 4.6 HD.Both of which are with Sony TRILUMINOS Display, X-Reality engine and Dynamic Contrast Enhancement.

Power the devices is Qualcomm Snapdragon with Adreno Graphics. Snapragon 820 will give the Xperia XZ top class performance complimented with abundant storage at 32GB/64GB with 3GB RAM. Xperia X Compact won't be left out with its Snapdragon 650 processor also with 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. If storage is still not enough, you can add up to 256 GB via microSD card.

Sony is gearing for a fight in terms of optics and since they practically control the sensors in the industry then Xperia line gets their best efforts. Sony’s original Exmor RS™ plus Predictive Hybrid AF and now Laser AF is brought into the mix for faster focusing on close objects. To get accurate true to life colors,  RGBC-IR sensor with colour sensing technology is added which adjusts the white balance based on the lighting conditions. Finally, at long last, Sony opens up its camera software with Manual Controls for ISO, Shutter Speed, Focus for greater creative control. For Xperia XZ, it is the first smartphone to carry 5-axis OIS for smoother video recording without the shakes and blur. Both phones will carry 23MP with Sony 24mm G-Lens and BIONZ image processor. Front camera differs as Xperia XZ has 13MP while Xperia X Compact is at 5MP.

As for connectivity, regular sets with WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC. Makes use of USB Type-C Port for faster charging and data. Fast internet connection  via LTE is supported and i am pretty sure it will support bands in whatever country you are. Single Sim variant for Xperia Compact while Xperia XZ will have Single Sim and Dual Sim Models.

Battery is at 2900mAh for Xperia XZ and 2700mAh for Xperia X Compact. Qnovo Adaptive Charging is supported.

As for pricing and release, Xperia XZ said to launch globally October 2016 and Xperia X Compact is said to be available this month of September.

Cherry Mobile M1 First Mediatek X20 Smartphone Price Specs Philippines

Today, Cherry Mobile announced their newest smartphone with Mediatek X20 - Cherry Mobile M1! A First for the Philippine Market that is.

Cherry Mobile M1 comes in 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p IPS Display that lies under chrome frame with brushed curved back. Dual Speakers are on the front. 3.5mm audio jack is located on top sid. At the bottom is the USB Type-C Port and Mic. On the Left side is the sim card slot compartment. On the right side is the volume rocker and power botton.

Cherry Mobile and Mediatek is proud to announced that it will be the first smartphone Mediatek X20 to be release in the market that is complimented with 4GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. With new processor, Cherry Mobile M1 did performed well with flawless navigation and launching of apps and games.

We tried NBA 2K16 at High Settings and it did show some lag but you can manage to play it. For smoother play try in an aircon cool environment or set some visual settings to medium for smoother game play.

As for optics, it is said to make use of Sony IMX 230 1/2.4 Exmor RS Sensor for its 21MP Rear Camera as supported with Dual-Tone LED Flash. It also packs a 8MP Front Facing Camera that is also supported with Selfie Flash. Should be able to deliver improved outputs for still shots as well as videos.

With it's bigger sensor, i did expect it to give clarity photos but output turn out bland and blurry, underexposed. This can be attributed with auto settings of camera which is incorrectly set and an f/2.8 aperture!

We found some lines on our outputs, this is a bad sign. Night shot are blurry, again due to auto settings with higher iso making it grainy with faster shutter. Aperture f/2.8, with this a smaller opeing of the camera so less light enters the sensors.

Selfies did come out well way better than back camera. Cherry Mobile needs to work out the camera as it does not fully utilize the sensor as well as they need to fix camera software bugs.

It will have the full set of connectivity from WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC as well as LTE cellular data. This is a Dual Sim handset. Other than that it carries a USB Type-C port which should deliver USB-OTG support, faster data and fast charging.



Cherry Mobile M1 will also have personalized security as it packs a Fingerprint Sensor.

Battery is at 3600mAh Non-Removable.

Priced at 11,999 Pesos, the Cherry Mobile trumps their competition in terms of Performance with its partnership with Mediatek powering their Cherry Mobile M1 with Helio X20. However, Camera was poor even with it a very dependable sony camera sensor. We expected a flagship killer but Cherry Mobile fell short in the optics department. If you are a gamer, this might be for you but if you are into photography, not this one.
