Samsung Galaxy TabPro S Arrives Price Philippines Specs

Samsung and Microsoft love child Galaxy TabPro S, 2 in 1 Tablet Laptop Hybrid arrives and is now available for the Philippine Market.

Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is slim and light 198.8mm in height, 290mm in width,  6.3mm thin and weighs only 696 grams. Tablet is built with an aluminum frame holding the 12 inch WQHD 2160 x 1440 Super AMOLED display which provide vibrant and rich visuals. As expected, it is very solid but light for its size. the SAMOLED Display is just wow with deep blacks and amazing color reproduction. Comes with a cover case with full-sized keyboard.

Powering the device is Intel M3 Core Processor and Intel HD Graphics 515 coupled with 4GB RAM and for the Philippine Model it is with 128GB SSD Storage: 106GB C: Partition - 84GB for Users, 22GB  System while the Missing GB is used for backup and recovery partition. This should be enough for casual gaming or old title games and Photoshop and light video rendering.

Offers complete sets of connectivity features from WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC as well as a Sim card slot that supports internet data connection with LTE Cat 6. This enable you to always be connected even when you are on the go. As for ports there are only two the 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C Port. Well guess you will be needing a Type C Dongle to connect more USB device as well for external display.

IFA 2016 Acer Release Ultra-Thin and Light Swift Laptops

Acer unveiled its new Swift series of ultra-thin and lightweight laptops PCs -Swift 7, Swift 5, Swift 3 and Swift 1.

The Swift 7 weighs only at 2.48 pounds measuring 0.39 inches (9.98 mm) thin, making it the World’s First Laptop to measure less than 1 cm. Dual Tone in black and gold design for elegance to its solid all-aluminum uni-body. Sports a 13.3 inch Full HD IPS display with a micro-bezel that it protected with tough Corning Gorilla Glass.

Light as it may, it is powered by top-of-the-line performance with 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor coupled with 256GB SSD and up to 8GB of memory. Delivers the latest wireless connectivity with 2x2 802.11ac with MU-MIMO and comes equipped with dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports for extensive connectivity for charging, data, external display and more. Features an HD webcam with HDR (High Dynamic Range) for clear, bright and detailed images.

Quoted  for up to 9 hours of battery life.

Encased in a sturdy brushed-aluminum chassis for lightweight design at 0.7 inches (17.95 mm) in height and weighing 3.3 pounds (1.5 kg).

It comes optional backlit keyboard and large 72 mm touchpad.  Include a USB 3.1 Type-C port, HD Webcam with HDR, and built-in fingerprint scanner.

Finally is the Affordable Acer Swift 1 in a brushed-metal-like finish with  diamond-cut edges design touches on power button and touchpad. Just modest of specifications, 14 inch HD Display, an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage.

Measures at  0.7 inches in height (17.9 mm) and weighing 3.5 pounds (1.6 kg). Battery life claimed to last up to 12 hours.

The Acer Swift 7 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $999; in EMEA in October with prices starting at €1,299; and in China in September with prices starting at ¥6,999.

The Acer Swift 5 will be available in North America in November with prices starting at $749; in EMEA in November with prices starting at €749; and in China in October with prices starting at ¥5,999.

The Acer Swift 3 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $499; in EMEA in October with prices starting at €499; and in China in September with prices starting at ¥4,999.

Look what we have here, Cherry Mobile newest Dual boot Windows Android Tablet Laptop Hyrbid, Cherry Mobile Cubix Morph!

We have done a quick unboxing and here is the video.


Package includes the Cherry Mobile Cubix Morph encased in its Quick Keyboard Magnetic Case together with manuals, warranty Card and power adapter.

Cherry Mobile Cubix Morph comes with concentric embossed back design branded with Windows and Intel logo. Ports are located at the right side  - 3.5mm audio, dedicated power dc in, USB 3.0, HDMI,  MicroUSB and compartment for MicroSD.

Sports a 10 inch HD IPS Display at 1280 x 800 resolution although we wished they opted for not so picture-frame bezel. Powering the device is Intel Cherry Trail Atom X5 particularly z8300 coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. Storage has been divided for the use of both OS with Android 8GB (4GB Usable) while Windows 10 at 20GB . It must be noted that it runs the latest Windows 10 variant that supports MicroSD as storage for applications.

Runs on Windows 10 as well as Android 5.1 Lollipop. We found less bloatwares on both OS. With Android, we did like its dual column setup of menus as well as pre-installed Word and Excel. First boots up with Windows 10 but you could easily switch to Android by clicking on the desktop icon. Likewise, from Android switch to Windows by clicking on the Switch to OS that is located on toggle controls on the Android Notification bar. It remembers the last OS you used.

Comes with regular sets of connectivity features - WiFi and Bluetooth. USB Is Supported.  However we observed that with Windows 10, MicroUSB does not support data transfers while on Android it does. You do have USB 3.0 to use for your USB Peripherals.

Just basic camera features with 2MP at front and back end.

Carries a 6000mAh batttery which charges via DC as well as via microusb. No, it won't charge using both as it prefers dc. 3 Hours charging time with DC.

On the Test unit we found some bugs: Bluetooth does not receive but can be send, cracking noise from Speakers for low tones, Boot loop when you switch OS the third time, touch pad unresponsive. Hopefully can be address with drivers update or firmware update. Well seems that it was just the test unit and people who ordered the Cubix Morph were thrilled with the product especially with the performance of Intel Atom X8300 running their games and applications efficiently.

Priced at 5,999 5,499 Pesos. Had my high expectation for this device considering its internals and dual boot but there are things needed to be fixed. Also comes in Power Package to include a 1 year Subscription for Office 365 and HP Printer Priced for only 7,499 Pesos!

Acer Switch Alpha 12 Now Available Specs Price Philippines

Look what we have here, another one from Acer. This time its their 2 in 1 Tablet Laptop Hyrbid with Surface-Like qualities, the Switch Alpha 12.

Acer Switch Alpha 12 comes in a Tablet form factor with adjustable kickstand up to 165° so as you can get that prefered screen angle you like. A rubber anti-slip strip ensures the screen stays put even on slippery surfaces like glass or tile. Well seems to me Acer was inspired by Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Sports a adequate 12 inch Active Matrix TFT Color LCD at QHD 2160 x 1440 resolution. To complimented its adjustable screen angle, display has In-plane Switching (IPS) Technology so even at any viewing angle visuals are clear and color rich.

Complimenting its great visuals, Acer Switch Alpha 12 comes with Two (2) Front-Facing Speakers which should provide unimpede audio. 3.5mm Audio Port is available for externalaudio accessories.

There are two models spoted SA5-271-395G and SA5-271-54ZW. The SA5-271-395G will be powered by Intel i3 6100U with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB SSD Storage. While SA5-271-54ZW is the higher end with Intel i5 6200U with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB SSD. To keep things cool when performing heavy tasks, the Switch Alpha 12 makes use of space-age heat pipe cooling system "Fan-less Acer LiquidLoop™ cooling". Also have MicroSD/XC slot for additional Storage.

For productivity and office work, comes with full-sized keyboard that magnetic snap-on and raised for more comfortable typing as well as serves as a screen cover and may house Acer Active Pen (Sold Separately).

Equipped with WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 for Wireless connectivity. Now utilizes USB-Type C port supporting faster data transfer rates as well as support for external display and other usb peripherals. Other accessories are available like Active Pen (256 levels of pressure sensitivity) for hand and creative work and USB Type-C Dock station. A USB 3.0 is available for backward compatibility jus in case.

Runs on the latest Windows 10 OS which should supports Continuum as well as comes with value added applications from Acer.

Well its not the Microsoft Surface Pro but at least Acer Switch Alpha 12 is officially available in the country. This Hybrid should be able to perform well with its latest 6th Generation processors coupled with abundant ram and fast SSD storage on 12 inch QHD display which is just right size for work as well as play. Full Size Keyboard here so you should get used to it quickly. If you are looking for a decent performance grade Hybrid, this might be for you. This should very well compete with the likes of Asus Transformer 3 and alternative to Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
