Huawei Opens New SM San Lazaro Concept Store

Leading Smartphone maker, Huawei, opened a new retail concept Experience at SM City San Lazaro, Manila. The newly opened branch is the first in the city of Manila and the 44th in the country.


SI 3.0, the design blueprint of the Huawei SM San Lazaro store is guided by four traits - simple, premium, warm, and comfortable. The new design is marked with wider spaces and lighter ventilation promising an enhanced and more welcoming customer experience.



“Huawei continues to prove to be a game changer in the smartphone industry this year, and we have big plans to take advantage of this momentum. Our high-end premium phones such as the P9 and Mate 8 have been the drivers of this smashing success. As such, we would like to extend this premium, high-quality identity to consumer experience at our stores,” shares Andy Fang, Country Head at Huawei Philippines.

Power Mac Center Sync Session 2016 Now on its 3rd Year!

Power Mac Center Sync Sesssion returns for another year of extraordinary of Musical Acts and Masterclass by OPM Music legends and technical training on music productions.



Sync Sessions is an audio experience that showcases the power of apps, accessories, and Apple devices in music-making. Following the past two successful editions, this year will continue to celebrate Filipino talent by showcasing the musical prowess of homegrown independent artists. The in-store mini-concerts will be set in motion by ambient synth-pop singer-songwriter BP Valenzuela. Catch her at Power Mac Center TriNoma on September 24. Music legends “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano will share his intensity on September 27. Followed by Urbandub’s Gabby Alipe on October 1 and Raimund Marasigan on October 16. All Masterclass sessions will be held at Power Mac Center Greenbelt 3 from 1-4 PM.



“This year’s Power Mac Center Sync Sessions aims to encourage more artists to experiment on music production--be it for songs, sound effects, movies, or home videos. We hope that by providing the technical knowhow through our brand ambassadors and invited experts, we’ll be able to spark greater interest in the use of Apple technology in creating music,” said Power Mac Center Marketing Director Joey Alvarez.

The Masterclass sessions will be supported by Logic Pro X training for beginners conducted by Ms. Teresa Barrozo, Music professor at De La Salle - College of St. Benilde. Three schedules available: September 25 and October 9 at Power Mac Center SM Aura, and October 23 at Power Mac Center The Annex at SM North EDSA (1-4 PM). The indie folk/rock band The Ransom Collective will make feet stomp to their folk pop beats at Power Mac Center SM Megamall on October 8. Meanwhile, producer and beatmaker CRWN performs with Jess Connelly on October 22 at Power Mac Center Power Plant Mall. All in-store performances are open to the public and start at 4 PM.

IFA 2016: Sony Launches Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ

Sony officially announced their new Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ.

They come in a Unified Design with loop surface that comfortably sits on your hands. The loop surface is inspired by a monolithic form. ALKALEIDO™ metal enhance the Xperia XZ's premium design with shine and depth. As for Xperia X Compact’s design, it comes in high-gloss finish and solid feel as well as follows the new signature blue colour expression, Mist Blue together with classic Universe Black and stylish White.



Sony is also an expert in making water resistant phones as such you don't need to worry about water for Xperia XZ as it is IP68 Dust and Water Resistant.

The Xperia XZ will carry a 5.2 inch Full HD  while Xperia X Compact is at 4.6 HD.Both of which are with Sony TRILUMINOS Display, X-Reality engine and Dynamic Contrast Enhancement.



Power the devices is Qualcomm Snapdragon with Adreno Graphics. Snapragon 820 will give the Xperia XZ top class performance complimented with abundant storage at 32GB/64GB with 3GB RAM. Xperia X Compact won't be left out with its Snapdragon 650 processor also with 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. If storage is still not enough, you can add up to 256 GB via microSD card.



Sony is gearing for a fight in terms of optics and since they practically control the sensors in the industry then Xperia line gets their best efforts. Sony’s original Exmor RS™ plus Predictive Hybrid AF and now Laser AF is brought into the mix for faster focusing on close objects. To get accurate true to life colors,  RGBC-IR sensor with colour sensing technology is added which adjusts the white balance based on the lighting conditions. Finally, at long last, Sony opens up its camera software with Manual Controls for ISO, Shutter Speed, Focus for greater creative control. For Xperia XZ, it is the first smartphone to carry 5-axis OIS for smoother video recording without the shakes and blur. Both phones will carry 23MP with Sony 24mm G-Lens and BIONZ image processor. Front camera differs as Xperia XZ has 13MP while Xperia X Compact is at 5MP.

As for connectivity, regular sets with WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC. Makes use of USB Type-C Port for faster charging and data. Fast internet connection  via LTE is supported and i am pretty sure it will support bands in whatever country you are. Single Sim variant for Xperia Compact while Xperia XZ will have Single Sim and Dual Sim Models.



Battery is at 2900mAh for Xperia XZ and 2700mAh for Xperia X Compact. Qnovo Adaptive Charging is supported.

As for pricing and release, Xperia XZ said to launch globally October 2016 and Xperia X Compact is said to be available this month of September.
