Lenovo Vibe K5 Appears Specs Price Philippines

Lenovo Vibe K5 finally makes its appearance in its metal-clad design that comes in brushed graphite black, gold or silver color options. Houses a 5 inch 720p HD IPS Display which should make it more manageable size for easy to carry and portability.

Here is quick unboxing of Lenovo Vibe K5!

Examining closely, all ports are located on top with 3.5mm audio jacck and  MicroUSB port. Clean is the bottom part and left side part. The Right Side only holds the volume rocker and power/lock button.

Removing the back case reveals more. It is not entirely a metal back case as its top and bottom part is polycarbonate plastic. There are pins that connects the board to the metal sheet. This might be to enhance signal strength as both wifi and cellular signals show better reception. Two (2) MicroSIM and one dedicated one (1) MicroSD slot is also found for its network and additional storage. Could see Dual Stereo Speakers that provide very loud sound system.

Underneath, is a Snapdragon 415 Octa-Core Processor with Adreno 405 GPU coupled wiith 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage (up to 10GB usable storage). Lenovo is first to sold smartphone utilizing 415 and it delivered acceptable Antutu score and performance. See Antutu Below:

With Performance, we played Asphalt 8 and NBA 2K16. With Asphalt 8in high setting, it ran flawlessly. However with NBA 2K16, it is not playable on High Settings as game play was plague with lag but the game is playable in ultra low settings with reflections and shadows are off. It did run Asphalt 8 wiithout any trouble.

A 13MP Rear camera  with LED Flash  and 5MP Front camera serves its photographic features. Camera UI is just simple with only few modes and settings but its captures and outputs are of better quality with great focus, real colors and detailed.

Simple Camera UI that offers only Normal, Panorama and Effects. Full HD Video Recording with EIS is supported. Manual Settings include only White Balance, ISO and Metering.

Camera Samples Here:

Focusing is on the spot and remarkable as seen above. With a bright sunlit environment, it was able to focus on the flower alone and brought down exposure to the point the background had darken while enough highlights on the target.

Colors are on point and like real-time. Camera module has great control of light. Even with aperture size of f/2.2, outputs came out with good exposure not over exposed or under.

Daylight photos are good with better image detail. However with HDR mode, there is too much adjustments on shadows and highlights therefore even with foreground is highly detailed, clouds were washout due to high highlights.Although when it comes to Night shots, this is where the camera fails to capture details.

For its 5MP, Lenovo Vibe K5 just produce decent output in well lit conditions. This is because with aperture of f/2.8,  smaller camera hole therefore less light enters so poorly exposed selfies. You really need a steady light source.

Comes with today's standard of connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This is a Dual Sim Handset and supports better internet connection via LTE. Like we said on the start of the article, signal strength are enhanced with the metal construction of the phone. A very good use of metal design by Lenovo.

Vibe UI is on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop. There are a few bloatware but you could easily uninstall, disable and manage via Background App Management. There are other management settings like Notificaton, Permission and App Management and Data.

There are Customization available with Themes but touch and gesture controls are missing. Other value added apps such as ShareIt is available. It's build in file manager, supports FTP to wirelessly access your files via your internet browser and wireless network.

Lenovo Vibe K5 is the cheapest Lenovo Smartphone with Theatermax coupled with enhanced Dolby Atmos for its Dual Speakers for a better sound experience. Simply just turn on VR Split screen mode launch the VR app, put on the VR kit and enjoy.

Carries a 2750mAh Removable Batttery which should give you more battery life considering its not so power hungry specifications. For heavy user, with gaming (NBA Grade games) 3-4 hours max but for casual and moderate use 6-7 hours. Charging time is 2+ hours and does not support 2A Fast charger.

Overall, Lenovo Vibe K5 is fairly good budget smartphone with solid metal built, quality performance, better camera and VR ready smartphone at budget price. It does have some of its shortcomings with only HD Display and no fast charging but Lenovo needed to cut on somethings to make this affordable. Tested VR on kids, and they found it to be good and exciting. VR kit is not included in the package so better get the 299 with Lazada. haha

Spotted Via Villman and said to retail for 6,990 Pesos which should make it the more affordable Lenovo Smartphone with great build, portable size, Snapdragon processor with LTE.

Infinix Note 2 Review Benchmarks Camera Samples Sensors Price Specs Philippines

Update! Tomorrow June 29 at 12 Noon is the sale of Infinix Note 2! Click and bookmark the links below....

Finally we got hold of Infinix Note 2!

It gorgeous with its Crisscross Hair-Fine Brushed Metal Finished Curved Back. It's quite big though but is not that heavy. Upfront lies its humongous 6 inch HD Display with Notiffication Lights on top side of the front camera. Display is bright enough and acceptable color conditions. As see here with some of its small competition.

On top part lies the 3.5mm Jack; Rightside lies the power/lock and volume rock; while on the bottom is the MicroUSB port for data and charging. The Back is the Infinix Note Branding as well as the primary camera and speaker.

Package includes Infinix Note 2 Unit, Charger, Data Cable, Manuals and Warraty Card. No Headset included.

Looking beneath the back cover you will see a non-removable battery, 2 Micro Sim Slots, and dedicated MicroSD slot.

Infinix Note 2 is powered by Mediatek MT6753 Octa-Core Processor wth Mali T720-MP3 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. You do have the option to expand via its dedicated MicroSD Slot. Upon First boot up, you have at least 68% free RAM and usable more than 10GB storage. This internal setup is not new in the market but Infinix Note 2 does have a different XUI on top of Android Marshmallow offering a different kind of experience. Here is Antutu Score and Asphalt on Infinix Note 2. Tried NBA2K16 on High Settings, too much lag. However if you adjust some settings to medium and low you do to play the game at acceptable frame rates.

The XUI is staright forward UI with flat icons but comes with system management, gesture controls and customization. First boot up is just simple with selection of Language, Country, WiFi, Google Account and X Account. You could Skip WiFi to X Accont to boot on to the Homescreen in seconds.

Specs wise,it is said the Infinix Note 2 carries a 13MP with Samsung ISOCELL Sensor with PDAF supported by LED Flash and for its front 5MP 1.6μm large-pixels. Camera Interface is simple to operate by simple swiping from left to right between modes and has available filters and settings on the side. Rear Camera is capable of 1080p Video Recording while front has 720p. Per EXIF or Picture details of the samples, it indicates that both front and rear has aperture of f/2.0 which should take in more light and exposure.

Here are samples taken with Infinix.
Shots in good lighting and in daylight came out great with good details and on-point color reproduction.

This can't be said though for low light as you can see, outputs turn out to be grainy. Seems there is a need for adjustment for iso and shutter speed for auto settings.

Focus works right but you really need to tap on the thing you want get focus on. Letters are legible and minute details are clear when you zoom in.

As for Selfies, like the rear camera, Front takes good outputs with decent lightning and grainy in low light. So make sure you have light source while you take those shots.

Infinix Note 2 offers Professional Mode which should give you creative control and with little know how on right setting will give you bettter outputs and get those creative shots. Although we wished they have properly labeled shutter speed and liveview when you change the settings.

Moving on to connectivity, Infinix Note 2 offers the regular sets. WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is a Dual Sim Handset and offers LTE but only Cat. 4. You can lock to 4G only  to prevent fluctuating between signals. It has USB OTG but with its built-in File Manager, it won't let you transfer between internal and external storage. A walk around would be to install ES File Explorer.

Sensors include Accelerometer, Light, Proximity, Gyro, Magnetic, Sound and Gyro. However per testing VR Cardboard App, the Gyro does'nt work.

Carries a 4040mAh Battery. While playing Asphalt for 30 mins it lost 8%. So I estimate it should run 5-7 hours graphic intensive gaming. For moderate usage, it should last you at least 2 days but with testing it lasted me 3. There are also two useful battery modes, High Performance mode fit for heavy operations and running graphics intensive apps and games and Ultra-Power Saving modes when dire need to conserved power when our at critical level.  Will do proper stress test and also fast charging.

So far, the best Phablet in its price category for just 5,990 Pesos! Pros is its 6 inch Screen Size, Optimized Performance, Clean and Functional UI, Professional Camera and Big Battery. Cons: Size as it is not pocket-friendly, USB-OTG needs to be setup, Gyro but does'nt work with VR.

It is will be available with Lazada Philippines on June 29. So be sure to bookmark which color you like below
